This has to be one of the saddest churches I photographed around Nelson. The rear door was unlocked so I entered to find all the bench forms neatly in place and a floor strewn with bird droppings and the makings of bird nests. The walls are all timber lined and at the front is a platform from which a peacher has spoken in years gone by. I haven't yet found out about this church but I suspect it is an old Methodist one.
The Dovedale Cemetery is in the next paddock and I've added a couple of gravestones of interest to this page.
